Starting with version 1.0 of Engineer’s Aide software in 1985, EPCON has been the leading provider of process engineering calculations for fluid flow analysis and process equipment sizing. Engineer’s Aide 3.0 was the first Windows based fluid flow analysis software for Windows released in 1991 with the release of Visual Basic. Our graphical user interface design introduced in version 3.1 was the first to allow input and output of fluid flow simulations in 1993 and included the entire AIChE DIPPR Database. Further improvements included liquid, gas, and 2-phase flow analysis within the same graphical user interface in version 4. Engineer’s Aide became the most widely used fluid flow analysis software in the chemical and refining business after release of version 5.0 and corporate wide licensing by Dow and Shell and we continue in this leadership position today.
EPCON has completed the development of a process simulation software, a flare header simulation software and a pressure relief valve simulation software over the past 10 years to provide a comprehensive process engineering software suite in SYSTEM 7 Process Explorer. Two major development projects were also completed by EPCON for both the American Petroleum Institute and the Gas Processors Association to provide thermodynamic software packages for both organizations and we continue as the sole source for these industry standard products. EPCON has received 5 major industry awards for our software development projects since 1991 as we continue our leadership position in process engineering software development for practical use within the oil, gas, chemical and other process industries.
