EPCON has been an active member and distributor of the AIChE DIPPR Database for over 10 years to help improve the accuracy of thermophysical properties for use in process engineering software. The latest, licensed version of DIPPR is included in all EPCON software including SiNET, CHEMPRO, and SYSTEM 7.
Over the past 4 years, EPCON has also been a member of the UNIFAC consortium to develop improved group-contribution property estimations (Oldenburg, Germany) as well distributing the popular Dortmund Data Bank (DDB) in North America. DDB includes the largest collection of experimental VLE data with software tools for direct regression to binary parameters needed for accurate process simulation results.
For polymer systems, the VLXE physical property system provides accurate and reliable flash/mixture calculations. SYSTEM 7 Process Explorer includes the software tools necessary for regression of binary parameters and estimation of physical properties using the Artist estimation software. Experimental data measurements can also be provided by LTP (Oldenburg, Germany) if not currently available in DDB. Property packages for process simulation can be prepared on a customized basis from DDBST for use in SYSTEM 7 Process Explorer.
EPCON’s Engineer’s Aide software has been widely used in the chemical industry since 1985 with corporate wide use by BASF, Dow Chemical, Dow Corning, Eastman, LyondellBasell, and 3M to provide both equipment sizing and pipeline simulation capabilities. Included in Engineer’s Aide SiNET is the AIChE DIPPR Database of nearly 2000 components. Engineer’s Aide SiNET’s award winning, patented design translates into faster engineering results (up to 5 times faster than competitive alternatives based on side-by-side comparisons).
