Fluid Flow Simulation & Analysis for Liquids and Gasses

The development of separate computational engines for fluid flow simulation and process simulation by EPCON provides unmatched convergence and speed in your process engineering work. Combining fluid flow and process simulation in one convergence engine is a recipe for disaster when attempting to perform these types of simulations.

Try doing a large steam system or cooling water system model with a process simulation software engine and you will spend at least twice the time doing it versus a dedicated fluid flow simulation software engine (and it probably won’t even converge in your process simulator).

Three Phase Flash Mixture Calculator

THERMA FLASH, EPCON's powerful THERMA™ Flash/Mixture Calculation application, allows the user to determine vapor-liquid equilibria (VLE) or vapor-liquid-liquid equilibria (VLLE) and associated phase properties, for mixtures of pure and/or pseudo-components.

Properties of pure components are computed with the DIPPR® and API databook(the DIPPR® database is used for pure components only). The three-phase flash (VLLE) engine enables the user to predict phase splits involving a vapor and two liquid phases, wherein the second liquid phase (if present) is an aqueous phase. The three-phase flash is able to determine up-front if a second liquid phase if water is present, and reduces to a two-phase flash if there is no aqueous/water phase.

THERMA's Flash/Mixture screen consists of two tables where pure component and pseudo component can be specified. A databank of quality SRK and NRTL parameters are included that are automatically selected for component pairs -providing 3-phase flash results comparable to any major simulator.

CHEMPRO Engineering Suite provides the best-in-class physical properties data available, also known as the DIPPR Database, developed exclusively by the AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineer’s).
