The API technical data book explorer allows navigation of the 16 chapters of the API technical data book in electronic format. An electronic index allows for quick navigation of the opening chapters initially the chapters will load into memory for quick access. In selecting the second time selection of introduction in any chapter provides quick review of the basic concepts of that subject matter. Selection of individual procedures will display the procedure and its purpose, limitations, and reliability along with the manual along with a sample example problem to show precisely how the calculations are being done.

Where a computer icon appears within the index; clicking on the icon will load the chapters programs and will calculate all the procedures. The data book explorer is a true web browser which you can navigate back and forward. You can see in and out. You can go by page or alternatively you can pick the hand tool and scroll between pages. You can search by key word it will show all occurrences of that key word within the chapter. It will go to that page and highlight the key word. The programs available within the software are accessible within the navigation bar utility programs. The navigation bar can be turn off within the program by clicking on the corresponding toggle application bar button.
